I was brought to my knees! Do you know that feelin

I was brought to my knees! Do you know that feeling? I do - intimately!

In 2010 we lost our business, our income, 3 houses including our beautiful family home and we were a hairs whisker from losing our marriage. All while trying to lovingly raise 4 kids aged 4-10.

It wasn’t the physical losses on their own that created rock bottom, it was all that surrounded it as well
~ the shame
~ the guilt
~ the feeling that all my fears were playing out right in front of me.
~ the feelings of despair and hopelessness.

Even now as I go back there I can feel it in my body.

So what changed?
I decided I was done standing any longer on the sidelines of my life.!

I was raising 4 children.
They deserved more.
I deserved more.

I refused to believe life would end here with me in this space of loss, despair and hopelessness.

It wasn’t an immediate, blink of an eye shift. I hit rock bottom and stayed there for a while, feeling the victim and blaming the outside world…until I was ready for that not to be true anymore.

It took a lot of “taking responsibility” and taking action toward what I wanted.

I had to look my limiting beliefs in the eye and own that they helped me create the disaster I had just been through.

So transformation is possible.

🔥 We can hit rock bottom and find our way back 🔥

My story is mild compared to some of the women I have coached…they all find their way.

The Key
~ owning their story and choosing more for themselves

and then doing everything they know how to do to create a more heart-aligned life for themselves.

Rock bottom…being brought to our knees…is the ultimate invitation.

It asks:
~ Do we want to stay here?
~ Do we want more for ourselves, our loved one, our life?
~ And are we willing to show up for it?

It’s vulnerable.
We have to face our decisions and take responsibility for our part in life’s creation. It’s worth it!
Oh yes it is worth it!

I have 4 gorgeous children, now all nearing adulth

I have 4 gorgeous children, now all nearing adulthood. Let me tell you the conflicting demands, holding their tender hearts and navigating day to day life is a very real STRUGGLE.

Mothering is HARD!

And beautiful…and Hard!

The feeling of not being enough sneaks in sometimes before I know it.

💛 Have I done all I can?
💛 Are they ready to fly the nest?
💛 Have I done all I know how to do?

The real answer…likely not!

I’m human after all and can’t possibly give them all the skills and lessons they may need…that’s what life is for!

It doesn’t mean I don’t want to.
It doesn’t mean I don’t feel mother guilt rise up in me when I see them struggle…even if I know there was nothing I could do to see this moment of life coming for them.

The reality is most women want to be an extraordinary mother.

So it’s a great thing to stop and pause to acknowledge
~ what that really means for you.

There’s a societal pressure to never make a mistake,
be everything to ensure your child turns out perfectly and
never has a struggle they can’t effortlessly overcome.

We’ve all lived right?
That’s an impossible ask!

So what’s an extraordinary mother to you…or at least what sort of mother do you want to be?

For me, I want my kids to feel loved.

To know there is someone in their corner who has their back.

I may make mistakes.
I may screw it up…and of course I do, I’m human
and still I make personal commitments to myself

💛 I will pause to consider the experience of my child
💛 I will ask myself have I done all I can
💛 I will ask myself what are their needs
💛 I will apologise when I miss getting it right or blatantly screw it up.

Ultimately loving them and being conscious in my actions is all I have.

I can’t save them from life..oh boy I’ve learnt this the hard way…but I can love them and be there for them during the hard bits.

That commitment is not worthy of mother guilt or shame.

That commitment is worthy of self compassion, extra pats on the back and some deep self love.

We are all just doing the best we know how to do.

The more we listen to our intuition and most impor

The more we listen to our intuition and most importantly follow it, the stronger it becomes.

Like anything if we just wish it so,
it rarely comes
or if it does it isn’t anywhere
near as powerful as if we energise it with our action.

So if you want to foster your intuition, ask yourself questions in every day circumstances:

~ What’s true about this situation?
~ Where is the park that’s free in the crowded car park?
~ Get the toilet paper (or other grocery item you didn’t know you needed) when the nudge is there. etc

Take yourself on intuition dates where you put your hand on your heart, and ask where does it feel good and true to go today…then go there.

Your intuition will get louder and clearer the
💛 more you use it,
💛 the deeper and more attentively you listen,
💛 and the more you follow the guidance you receive.
