Being unarmoured, energy flowing through you, heart open, feeling – that’s where the bliss is… How do you get there? By being willing to be present and feel what’s alive in you today. Even if that feels uncomfortable and messy.
Remember this, happiness is often found on the other side of discomfort.
And it’s ok to fall apart in the process. I don’t mean a hidden sniffle, tucked away so no one can see it.
I mean fall apart, crack open, wail, tantrum, cry, mourn, be messy. This time in our lives is not neat and predictable. I don’t know a woman who isn’t in varying degrees of struggle. And yet I will bet the urge to be OK, under control, respectable, refined and together is right there on the surface.
Well F@#$% that. Why? Because we need to be able to feel the depths of what we are going through and that is neither neat nor pretty. Life is full of challenges and they are real for us.
Not only are we all dealing with a changing landscape with the lingering effects of life post covid, and the financial climate etc but we are also each carrying our personal lives:
~ divorce
~ crisis recovery
~ illness
~ kids challenges
~ elderly parents
~ financial challenge
Life doesn’t stop because your world takes a nosedive.
~ So here is your permission slip ~
Your feelings are real – let them out.
Be messy, snotty, angry, rageful, wild, out of control, whatever you need to be to let the backlog of feelings be released.
It may feel hard but you will feel better on the other side. Un-numbing yourself and opening yourself up to the world again is where you’ll reclaim your wholeness and happiness.
Knowing what to do when you feel numb can be a challenge, but I can assure you the challenge triumphs over your efforts to stay numb.
